South region : 05 pioneer companies align with 5s kaizen performance standards
Under the supervision of Mr. Messina Pascal Paulin, the MINPMEESA Regional Delegate for the South, five economic units in the region reached a decisive milestone in their modernization from February 12thto 15th. This initiative, supported by the Cameroon Productivity Association(CAPA) and JICA, aims to establish quality as a management standard.
The quest for industrial performance is intensifying in the South Region. Through the rigorous implementation of the 5S KAIZEN method, organizations with diverse profiles—such as Hotel Grand Bazar, the Don Bosco Technical Institute, and the NTEU DEM Bakery—have begun a profound transformation of their internal organization. The objective of this approach is two fold: to increase immediate productivity and to streng then long-term competitiveness in the face of growing market demands.
The success of this operation relies on the technical expertise mobilized. The works benefited from the guidance of Advanced KAIZEN Inspectors, notably Mr. Alimoka Serge Landry and Mrs. Abo'o N'Dong Émilie Priscille. Their intervention helped translate theoretical concepts of continuous improvement into practical solutions tailored to sectors as diverse as furniture manufacturing (Ets NUZE Furniture Services) and services(ELEGANCIA Pressing).
A lever for integrating SMEs into regional value chains
For the SPX-CMR, the adoption of the KAIZEN method by these companies in the South is a strong signal for the development of "Local Content" in a region rich in structural projects. Mastering 5S tools constitutes a "de facto certification" that reassures contractors of the capacity of local providers to deliver services compliant with international standards.
"Operational excellence is no longer a luxury reserved for large industries. By structuring their work environment and optimizing their workflows, these SMEs in the South are becoming credible links in the national subcontracting chain," highlights a productivity analyst. This dynamic, the result of fruitful cooperation between Cameroon and the Japanese agency JICA, directly contributes to the upgrading of our economic fabric.
This structural initiative demonstrates that the modernization of managerial practices is well underway. For SPX members, it serves as a reminder that organizational discipline is the first step toward accessing major markets, transforming every small daily improvement into a sustainable competitive advantage for the Cameroonian economy.
