Digital transformation : minepia receives cutting-edge tools to modernize the agropastoral sector

February 24, 2026, marked a decisive milestone in the modernization of public action in Cameroon. Under the aegis of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and with the support of the World Bank, the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries, and Animal Industries (MINEPIA) received a suite of next-generation equipment and digital platforms.

This initiative, detailed by Roger Mamoun, Head of the MINEPIA Communication Unit, is part of the Cameroon Digital Transformation Acceleration Project. It aims to provide the agropastoral sector with high-performance tools for statistical data collection, epidemiological surveillance, and the transparent management of training centers. In addition to software platforms, the hand over included significant logistical assets: six service vehicles, a 20 KVA generator, and a complete IT park.

This shift directly aligns with the vision of the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya, who in 2015 called for the digital economy to become an accelerator of growth and a job niche for the youth.

Expert analysis : digital tools as a structural asset for subcontracting

For the SPX-CMR, the arrival of these information systems is a major opportunity to structure the supply of SMEs in the sector.

"Thanks to this synergy between MINPOSTEL and MINEPIA, digital technology is becoming a developmental infrastructure capable of optimizing planning and basing decisions on objective data. For the SPX's members, these technological advances guarantee better competitiveness and more effective management of sanitary and climatic emergencies", explains a SPX expert.
