The Canadian company Magil will no longer carry out the work on the penetrating east of Douala. It was replaced by Mag Sarl, which is now responsible for it. The announcement was made by Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, the Minister of Public Works in an interview published by Cameroon Tribune on September 21, 2022.

According to the Minister, the company Mag Sarl signed the new contract relating to this 9 km section on August 19, 2022. This main and essential section on the penetrating East of the city of Douala is today the source of many traffic jams.

During a meeting held on April 27 in Yaoundé, Magil had nevertheless given the assurance to the minister that it would resume the work stopped for several months on May 15, 2022. More than four months later, this commitment has not been respected.
