Led by Mrs. Eyenga Danielle, MINPMEESA’s Departmental Delegate for Mvila, a technical team visited the Mengong District. The objective was clear: to evaluate the socio-economic impact of the support granted in 2025 to Social Economy Organizations (SEOs). This mission facilitated several strategic touchpoints:

• Technical mentorship: working with the artisans' focal point to ensure the sustainability of local craftsmanship.
• Regional synergy: meeting with the President of RELESS (Local and Solidarity Economy Network) in Ngoulemakong to harmonize development efforts.
• Commercial outlook: actively preparing for the South Region’s future cooperative market, a vital showcase for local products.

Import-Substitution in action: the Mengong Cassava Case

The highlight of the visit was an immersion into the processing unit of the Cassava Producers' Cooperative Society, managed by Mrs. AKOA Augustine. This unit successfully transforms cassava into bread-making flour—an initiative directly aligned with the national import-substitution policy championed by the Head of State. By processing raw materials locally, these cooperatives reduce import dependency and create value within the territory.

A strong signal for SPX-CMR

For the Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange of Cameroon (SPX-CMR), these advancements in the agro-industrial processing sector are essential. They demonstrate the progressive structuring of local suppliers capable of meeting the future needs of large agro-industrial contractors.
