A unido delegation in a working session at the spx
Led by Brian Portelli, from the investment promotion division in Vienna, Austria, the delegation came to discuss with the SPX the implementation of several projects and mainly the “Business Friendly” Program among others, for the benefit of Cameroonian companies.
The SPX is one of the organizations that support the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in the implementation of the "Business Friendly" program. It was to further explain this project to the SPX team, learn more about its activities and lay the foundations for specific collaboration in relation to this and several other projects that a UNIDO delegation visited the SPX this February 1st.
Brian Portelli, from the Investment Promotion Division in Vienna, Austria, who led the delegation, returned satisfied with the exchanges and the commitments made by the various parties. He appreciated the elements collected several weeks earlier by the SPX from its SME members on their support needs for investments. It appears from the “business plans” of these SMEs that they have major projects for their companies and are open to any type of support.
The difficulties experienced by the SPX were noted by its host who promised to transmit them to his superiors for further proceedings. Apart from the SPX, UNIDO also intends to rely on the Investment Promotion Agency (API) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency to make the "Business Friendly" program a success in Cameroon. . The UN institution has recently been working on the configuration of a new platform, in particular a database that would allow partner organizations to house and secure the information collected from companies.
