100 smes completely transformed through csr

This is the goal set by the Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange of Cameroon (SPX-CMR), which is launching a strong appeal to active forces and large companies to contribute to making CSR a reality in our SMEs. A first step has already been taken with the signing of an agreement with the firm Afrique RSE, which will assist the institution in this project.

The SPX-CMR is firmly committed to supporting 100 Cameroonian subcontracting SMEs for sustainability and the "Doing Good in Africa" label by the end of this year and throughout 2026. The aim is to strengthen partnerships between large companies and small and medium enterprises for a win-win collaboration; reduce poverty; increase knowledge; improve living standards; develop a local industry; reduce inequalities; and ensure a better distribution of economic benefits.

To achieve this, the institution is calling on large companies and financial partners to support it in this project aimed at making CSR a reality in SMEs. “It is essential for the future of SMEs, which constitute over 95% ofour economic fabric. Supporting SPX in this project means transforming Cameroonian SMEs and, in turn, the entire Cameroonian economy through the powerful lever that is CSR,” justifies Evariste Yameni, the Executive Director of SPX-CMR.

An Agreement with ARSE to Support the Initiative

To succeed in this ambitious project, the SPX-CMR has already signed an agreement with the firm Afrique RSE, a pan-African group specializing in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the integration of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria, and sustainability.

Afrique RSE and Doing Good in Africa are available to governments, businesses, investment promotion agencies, and private sector organizations(employers' associations, chambers of commerce, subcontracting exchanges, etc.) across Africa to train and assist them in designing, implementing, and monitoring CSR, ESG, and a circular, sustainable, and decarbonized economy.

To date, SPX-CMR has a database of 2,503 SMEs, has trained personnel from 526 companies, and contributed to 3,059 industrial linkages that have generated 430 contracts with a revenue of 47,733,919,943. This has enabled the creation of 10,196 jobs.
